Re: Best football biographies
For the younger and particularly EPL generation who post on here I would urge you to read “My father and other working class football heroes” by Garry Imlach.

It’s about a time when a footballing star would have to find an income to cover his family during the summer break because they only got paid, in those days, during the season.

Ferguson's autobiography is entertaining but I've also got Patrick Barclay's unauthorised biography which exposes stories such as his punch up with Mark McGee after Aberdeen had won the Cup Winners Cup and other incidents that old red nose would not have wanted made public.

Mr Anon,

i just read it whilst on holiday and it was funny and good, but to b honest it was a slightly padded out version of his podcast, which was brilliant.

So i'd recommend get a different book and if you want something audible then listen to his podcast instead for free and save your voucher

Paul McGraths is very good. Very honest. Still baffles me at how he played so well at such a high level being the utter piss head he was.

Re: Best football biographies
Not sure about audible but both John Lyalls and Ron Greenwoods are good. West Ham The Managers is excellent and Boys of 86 a good read as are Mark Wards, McAvennies, Cottees and a host of other Hammers. I enjoyed Roy Keanes two actually a very dark dry sense of humour.

"Robert Enke - a life too short" is on audible. A brilliant book, albeit very DARK.

Matt Dickinson's excellent Bobby Moore one is on audible as well.

Re: Best football biographies
Currently reading Crouch's one - definitely worth a read.

Would also highly recommend Vinnie Jones' one and Stuart Pearce's 'Psycho' was very good.

Re: Best football biographies
Craig Bellamy's autobiography is good.
The biography on Carlos Tevez released some years ago is awful and seems factually incorrect.

Bought Peter Crouch's and Jermaine Pennant's last night. Looking forward to those over the weekend.

Stan Ternent's book is a very good read with some funny anecdotes

I'm currently reading John Sitton's book
